0 to 5               Normal daytime sleepiness

6 to 7               Borderline normal daytime sleepiness

8 to 12             Mild excessive daytime sleepiness

13 to 15           Moderate excessive daytime sleepiness

16 to 24           Severe excessive daytime sleepiness
